whats the differance between 3rd and 4th gen struts?
I was talking to a friend about the whole 4th gen front strut thing... how no one makes a race only 90/10 strut for a 4th gen. He then asked me why one from a 3rd gen wouldn't work. Well, I sat there for a minute and said... "I have no idea". So just out of curiosity what is the difference? I'm not all that familiar with a 3rd gen strut... I would think it should be similar?
The front suspension set-up on the 3rd & 4th gen. cars are totally different. 4th gen. cars utilize a coil-over strut assembly, while the 3rd gen. cars springs are mounted between the upper & lower control arms as separate units from the struts.
