loudmouth vs. 4'' mufflex

mated to jet hot or hooker LT's, which of the 2 catbacks will perform better. the way i see it the loudmouth should have an edge b/c although the mufflex is an inch bigger in diameter, the loudmouth is wide open, straight thru...besides the resonator which would be replaced by a dynomax bullet. and the muffler in the mufflex setup has to have some restriction right?

The Mufflex 4" is for cars putting down 500HP or more.... If you are making that kind of HP, it will probably perform better than the LM. I've seen an 1,125HP LT1 run low 9's using a Mufflex 4" with the car's original "2OTL" tip welded on it.

i just dont see how though . the slightly bigger diameter intermediate pipe cannot make up the difference in flow that the muffler restricts. are you possibly implying that the slight backpressure that a muffler provides would be more beneficial on higher HP cars, vs. straight pipes, if so then why do so many "top-ten" guys run open headers, or dumps with straight thru mufflers?...im confused !
