I have a 94 OBD1. The knock sensor was a mother to get out of the block. When I finally got it out I noticed that the little tabs that grab hold of the top part are no longer grabbing very well. This caused the top of the sensor to turn while it was still in the block. Are they any wires or anything in there that I could of twisted off? I checked the resistance with an ohm meter and get 3850 ohms. I do not want to reinstall it if it's broke. Any other way to test it besides installing it to see if I get a code?

Your resistance reading is within normal parameters. Sounds ok.

 

Yeah, I guess I'll just put it in an see what happens.
