What to clean new cam with?

What to clean new cam with?

Basically what the subject says, be as specific as possible (I'm sure that there isnt that much to it, I'm just one of those guys that has to make sure he has ALL the details right).

Your new cam should be clean with a coat of oil on it. If dirt concerns you then just wipe with a rag & cover in more oil before application.

I don't know if this is the most correct method for removing the storage coating, but I sprayed mine with brake cleaner and then wiped it clean with a rag. I then used some Comp cam lube. I bought a jumbo container of it.

I second the brake clean. Then lube it well with assembly lube. Be generous with the lube.good luck!
