can I change the waterpump seal with the timing cover still on
can I change the waterpump seal with the timing cover still on
just finished up on my cam install, everything went very smoothly, in fact so much easier than what I thought it would be, except for the rain that made it a 5 day project
The car runs great except I have a stream of oil coming out somewhere up on top of the timing cover, I assume the distributor one is ok, so must be the waterpump seal just pouring out the oil. So I can I change that seal without yanking the cover off, I found that to be one of the hardest part of the job, it wouldn't be bad, but dropping the oil pan in front sucks, since the bolts are so out of reach. If I must remove the cover should I just replace all the seals for peace of mind that they won't leak anytime soon, or do they last a long time.
