I recently installed AS&M headers and there's a small exhaust leak. My mechanic says the only way to fix it is to weld. The leak is on the passenger side...it's where the "u" shaped tube is. One side goes into the cat and the other side (the one with the 2 sides) is the part that connects the 2 parts of the y pipe. Is this worth welding? How much HP am I losing due to the leak? What are the negatives of welding? Like why would I ever need these pieces to come apart? If I ever wanna switch my headers, I'll have to remove them anyway so all it'll take is a powerful saw to cut through the weld.......
