Site continually freezes

Site continually freezes
It does not matter which time of the day or the night it is, whether I am on IE or Mozilla, or which of the 4 computer I have that I am on. The site freezes for up to 15 minutes and I have to go onto other sites while this site loads. This has been going on for months and I am wondering if something is going to be done to fix the problem? I have also had thesame problem with computers outside of this household, so I know it's not a problem on my end.

My firefox quit working last night. So I started using IE again. Then all of the sudden this morning I get a page telling me IE 7 is available. 
Is it a coincidence or a plot my Microsoft?
IE 7 doesn't seem to be to bad. Alot of new features and many of them are what made firefox special. The plot thickens...

At 4a.m. Eastern, the site freezes until ~4:10a.m. Eastern. Never before 4:10a.m. is it back up. I assumed it was just the site backing up files or something. It affects the chat as well. This happens EVERY night/day..whatever...and that's why I assumed it was some sort of routine maintenence or something.

At 4am everyday the site runs it's daily backup. The site will go down for a few minutes while the databases are dumped to backup.

I have trouble with pages loaded also. The site locks up, and if I wait a few minutes, and reload, it still does not move. Happens on all my PC's at any time. I am not sure if it is a DNS issue, or something on you guys end.
