New 5-line limit on signatures?

New 5-line limit on signatures?
Would it be possible to get more lines, but limit the font size to the small size?
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I don't think my 7-line sig is that bad...

Re: New 5-line limit on signatures?
The rule has always been 5 lines or less, just not often mentioned. The reason you are now asking is because there are some new settings to the board that we are going through and have to tweak yet.

Re: New 5-line limit on signatures?
I'm asking because I went to modify my sig and I can't even keep it the same length as it is now.
It appears, BTW, that it's limiting it to four lines, even though it says five.

Re: New 5-line limit on signatures?
Yes. I want to change it to five lines, one of which is blank.
EDIT: Here is the sig I'm trying to use (not including lines w/ dashes):
---
My car: 2002 Z28 M6 - 13.219@107.55, 2.1 60' on hard tires - Factory Hurst, Corsa, lid, CAGS disabled, Simonds short stick, GS-D3s
Wife's car: 1987 Grand National - 13.66@99, 2.0 60', boost at 15psi - Hardtop, methanol, chipped
Practical cars: '00 Bonneville, '93 Regal

Re: New 5-line limit on signatures?
People with excessively long signatures were asked to cut them in length. The "5 line" got a little vague after the change to the character limit in the earlier software revision.
There's a lot of "fluff" in singatures.... quotes of stupid or offensive posts by other members, mod's lists that include details that no one really needs to know, and to make a suggestion of how to shorten the problem signature above.. do we really need to know about your "practical cars"?
The signature section should have enough info for people to know what F-Body brought you to the forum, and a level of details necessary to get most of your questions answered without people having to ask "what year?", "what tranny?" etc.
JMHO

Re: New 5-line limit on signatures?
It's probably difficult to implement with this software but IMO maybe 7 lines if you stick to the smallest sized font, 5 lines for normal sized font, and larger than normal fonts just flat out now allowed...

Yeah, it would be nice.
The only real problem with sig options is that sometimes people go nuts with them and they get obnoxious, which makes people sick of them.
I have been messing around with some of the option limitations trying to find the best balance so that people can make cool sigs, but can't go overboard with them.
