Would it be possible to set options so that one could ignore certain forums by default? When I visit the site I am bookmarked to go right to New Posts, but there is so many non-Camaro related posts, it is a pain to find the actual useful posts.. I dont come to the board to read about peoples relationship problems, politics, etc... I come here only for Camaro/LS1 related info. If I could somehow ignore certain forums, like the lounge, my experience would be much better here.. Also, you could cut down on server CPU time dedicated to including the tons of worthless posts in the search request..

 

Well, shoot. Not really a way of doing that as far as I know.

Here is what you can do that might help...a little tiny bit.

Each CATEGORY (like "Community") has a little arrow icon in the upper right hand corner. You can click that to "minimize" the category when viewing the main page of the forums.

However, this only hides the display of certain forums and won't filter them out of the "View New Posts" feature.

Yeah, it would probably be a good bit of restructuring to make something like that happen. You would have to change the New Post link to include the users prefs, and instead of querying all the forums in the SQL string you would have to specify what forums to search.

I thought about that, but you need to specify word(s) to search for that way.

 

Yeah I tried that, and even tried to use a few words that would likely be in every post, but even still it does not then remember which threads you are up to date on...
