How do I qoute someone properly?

Whenever I quote someone I click on qoute and copy the words in, but it never reads 'originally posted by'. I just looks like this...

BEFORE posting your question in this for OR e-mailing us, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST as your question may already be answered here.
How do I get the originally posted by in there?

Thanx Brad

PS I'm not sure if the 'originally posted by transfers to different threads, the example was just for that puropse.

Works fine for me when I click the quote button. It put in the "Originally posted by BradZ28" part automatically.

Strange problems popping up these days.

I guess this will have to do then, just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. Thanks.....

By chance are you using the quote button in the standard post reply?
Are you using the quote button that is red and is in the thread or the one that is grey and surrounded by a list button, color dropdown and other vB code buttons? This button will not submit a name of a member above the quote.

I would imagine this is your problem.

If you want to quote somebody's post and have their name show up use the little red quote button above the post reply button in the thread.
Hope that makes sense.

Good Luck!

Steve

It is only above the "Post Repy" button if it is the last reply in the thread

It is always in the last line of a reply along with the "email" buttons and such

Yeah, you're using the wrong one. Use the one at the bottom right of the message window, the one next to "Edit/Delete".

Click that Quote button instead of "Post Reply" like you are doing now.

If you wanted to quote me, you would click the one here in this message box. If you wanted to quote Brent, you'd use the one in his. Steve, use his, Jason, use his, etc etc etc.

Nobody likes an educated donkey, Brent.

He knew what I meant.

You are right though.......
