PLEASE read before locking.

This is the third time I have reformated my computer. I did it first when I noticed I got a bunch of crap from going to this site. I figured MAYBE it could have been from another site. So right after reformating my computer I went to a website I KNOW doesn't put spyware on your computer, then to here and got the exact same spyware.

I reformated again, FULL reformat, and went STRAIGHT to this site, I got the exact same spyware again.

There is no other possible site for it to be.

Please look into this because I enjoy this site.

EDIT: It is the EXACT same thing being loaded as the guy in this post. Coincidence? I think not. HERE

EDIT AGAIN: I just went on my mothers work computer and got the EXACT same thing as I got and the other guy got on her computer.

 

Im havihe same problem, and its quite rediculous if u ask me, This would be my 4th time reformating today. i ended up with the same problem yesterday i visited the site at around 730 am went to work, then got home around 6, ended up with over 7 programs oin my desktop, theres a spybot or a worm encoded into this site as soona s u load it up. jason or someone needs to look into it. this is the only site ive visitted. it caused UR IE to malfunction aka work barely and when u try to load it the cpu usage will go up to 100Percent, even with a GiG of ram. which is quite insane. now the problem im facing is no more site till its fixed. an di have a feeling it is something on the homepage, or forum home page. I suggest checking it out. its going to become a serious problem. There are many others that are getting this problem. it needs to be looked into.

Yeah ive been getting the same thing...programs poping up on my dektop out of nowhere and the same exact stuff theyve been saying in their post. Ive been getting this apropos.exe install thing too. I didnt even think that it could have been from this site but now that everyone else is saying it its got me thinking. I love this site too and im always on here so i hope its not from here. I dont know if theres any way it could be from here so i guess its just something yall could look into or something.

 

I don't doubt you getting spyware or something, but i'm not exactly sure where your getting it from. I've never gotten a single piece of spyware from my site.

I need as many details as possible including the name of the piece of spyware your getting and as many details as possible.

 

This just started for me maybe a couple days ago. When I reformat my computer and come back here I will tell you the EXACT ones I get. Off the top of my head, there is a virus scanner, spam remover of some sort, a singles finders, an online optimizer, play bingo online....then there is something that loads a bunch of options onto your browser.

This is the 3rd time I have tried doing this but my comp freezes. I sent this too my friend and he has the same spyware as well now. I might suggest going to someone elses computer and seeing for yourself. Maybe someone who hasn't been to the site. Sorry I can't be more help, I keep having to shut down programs just to write this. Hope you get this figured out.

 

one thing ive been seeing over and over again when i run my Adaware thing is this "PeopleOnPage" group of stuff. And all ive been visiting is this website for the past couple of days and that will come up. It said what it was and what it does, like a trogan or whatever, but i forgot exactly what it said. One program that comes from this is this apropos_install.exe program. Once again i dont know if its from this site but it comes up whenever i visit here.

I think I fixed it, but I still need to make sure. Sorry you guys had these problems, we didn't see them coming and would not allow them if we had.

So far so good. Just reformatted and I havn't got anything yet. It's goo to see a staff that cares about the people so much.

Reformat. because theres so many. the chances are, they will just set theirselves back up because they are in the registry. i would just put what u need onto disk, and reformat it only takes like 10 min to reformat a computer tops these days.

 

I think we got this taken care of. If not, please feel free to let us know.

However, I'd like to at least TRY to help fix this by offering some ideas on how to get rid of these without reformatting.

Of course, there is AdAware and Spybot S&D. Those work nice, but also try HiJack This and Bazooka. Those two work very well. Just do a Google search or search CNet for them.

I suggest using ALL of them in case one leaves something behind that the other manages to nail. Of course, be sure you know what you are doing and don't make a change that you are going to want to undo.

 

how do yo reformat xp? I've never done it before.
spyware removal programs are not working

 

put the disk in that came with the computer. and restart it, then follow onscreen instructions.

 

ten minutes to reformat a computer. mine is a athlon xp2200 wiht 512 ram and i dont know if that mkes any difference but it took me a good while for a fresh reformat. more like an hour or so.
