emails saying a reply has been made to my thread

i thought the emails would show teh replies in the email. they do not do this anymore. whats up with this?

is there a way to make it show the replies in the email? if I am on my phone and get an email that a reply has been made it would be nice to see teh reply in the email rather than having to go to the thread to see it.

i cant get on cz28.com on my phone anyways, I accidentily tried to log on with my old name and it um....dosnt work.

I get replies in e-mails all the time - in fact this very message came in an e-mail when you posted it because i'm subscribed to this forum. Nothing has been changed in that regard.

You mean you get the e-mail but the content of the post that triggered it is not included in the e-mail? Been that way for years.

What you could do is merge the two accounts so that you receive mail from both into one of them,* then set it to reply to mails received using the second one with the email address of the second one*. You could also apply labels to the second one. I currently use one Gmail account to manage six different addresses.

how do i do that? that would be perfect.

*Instructions for the email account you want to use:*
In Gmail, go to Settings > Accounts and Import. Click "Send mail from another address" in the Send Mail As: section. Follow the steps in that window for your other email address. Make sure the part marked "When receiving a message:" is set to "Reply from the same address the message was sent to."

Go to Settings > Filters. Click "Create a new filter." In the "From" field, put your other email address. In the next window, click the "Apply a label" checkbox. In the dropdown label box, choose "New Label" and make a label. Click "Create Filter".

*Instructions for the email account you want to forward to the other one:*
Go to Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP. For "Forwarding:", set "Forward a copy of incoming mail to" to your first email address.

Now, all emails sent to the other email address will forward to your main address. They will still be marked as from the correct person, but Gmail will know they were forwarded from your old address and will label them as such. It will also make it so you will reply using the email address it was sent to by default.

Why not just use a desktop email client?

because I dont know what that is. it may be a good idea. I have a personal gmal account and I have a few business gmail accounts. I plan on getting a website for several different businesses so the business email addresses may be changing soon.. maybe your idea is somthgin that would work for me.

but this is not the case. soemtimes the contents of the post is included and sometimes it is not. I am interested to know what triggers it to go one way over another. could it be the type of subscription? instant notification, daily, weekly etc?
