Is the chat room ever going to work? Its been down since I joined in November. I think it would be cool to finaly have a live conversation with everybody on here without having to use AIM.

 

This is in progress. Not just planned...in progress.

The downside is there is still a lot of work to do on it.

 

Awesome. I hope I didn't come off sounding like I was complaining, I have no idea what kind of work mut be involved with that sort of thing. Keep up the good work

Just found the forum and signed up. On another forum I'm on, there's a limit to the number of people who can go into the chat room. Will there be a limit here?

 

Possibly, but I don't think it will be anything that will be reached very often...if ever.

 

How hard is it? Get one of the many Java based IRC clients, integrate it into a web page, and go...???

 

That's what we had before, and many didn't go in there because they weren't clear on how to use IRC commands, etc.. Besides...Java kinda sucks and is a bit limited at times. At least, we never found a solution like that that we liked.

We finally found a solution that is easy to use and fully-featured. So far, we are very happy with it. It is highly configurable, so we have to tweak the settings.

 

Yeah, you are right.. IRC commands may not be so great for non geeks.. lol..

Oh and yeah, Java does suck...

Java = Hog...
