I know this has been suggusted before. Lots of people want 100x100 avatars. Personally, I don't care for size but I'd like to up the quality.

Technology is growing rapiodly, the typical Digital Camera picture is now over 2.5MB (See: My 5.0 MP Digital Camera at High Res) I'd just like to see the filesize bumped up to like 25-35kbs. That's still small enough where it won't kill a 56k modem, but no one has one anymore.

I cropped and saved a picture from my digital camera and couldn't get it under 5kbs at 75x75px, even as a gif. I had to resize and do some tweaking to get it under.

Also I couldn't get the "Enter Avatar URL" to work. I'd be more than happy to use my bandwith to host my Avatar.



Just my humble suggustion.

Yeah, it would be nice to be able to have an avatar, even at the required 75x75... That didn't have to have the quality reduced to crap in order to meet the file size. It's a PITA to make one without seeing waves and pixelation in it trying to get it under the file size limit.
