2002 Z28 Passenger Floorboard

I am wondering if the hump in the floorboard on front passenger side came from the factory like that? I suspect it was for a catalytic converter of which there isn't anything beneath the floorboard now.

The factory passenger side converter on an LS1 car isn’t under the hump. For LT1 cars, it was. They didn’t revise the floorplan when they changed over in ‘98.

BFH is a big friggin hammer. He's suggesting a way to eliminate the bump.
