95 3.4l v6

Hey guys just found this website and glad I did.

I just bought a 95 convertible that has been sitting for 1 1/2-2yrs and having an issue.

The car will turn over good and strong, it just will not start. I cannot hear fuel pump or relay. Also the fuel gauge doesnt work.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,
Shane

Try jumping over the relay to see if the fuel pump will kick on or not. If it does not then you know that the problem is most likly not in the controll circuit.

The easier way to see if the pump will actually run is to jump 12v to the fuel pump prime connector. If it runs, then you can worry about messing with the relay.
Since the gauge also does not work, it sounds like maybe someone was working with the pump assy and had some trouble. Here is some other info that might help further.

Just jump the connector, the key doesn't have to be in the run position. The pump should energize then.

The politically correct answer is "use a fused jumper" (a piece of wire with an inline fuse). Attach a wire from the red + terminal on the RH shock tower to the prime connector (obviously, do not let the end of that 12v jumper touch any ground). An attached fuel pressure test gauge will tell you if it is working properly.

Check at the last connector under the car to see if power is actually getting to the pump when you jump it. The last link in post #4 shows where it is and what wires are what. If power and ground are good there, your pump is likely dead.
