Zaino? sorri for another ?
I was wondering what is so great about zaino. I never have used it and would like to find out a little more information about it. I have a 97 black z28 and it has some swirl marks in it. Will zaino help them and i have heard u should wash your car with dawn dish soap. If you could just give me the facts about zaino. How does zaino compare to meguires. Thanx!
http://www.zainobros.com/index.shtml . and yes Z5 will get rid of most of your swirl marks. zaino's website has a lot of good info. hope this helps.

Well, since I've heavily used Meguiar's in the past, I suppose I can offer a fair comparison bewtween the two. First, Zaino is NOT a wax like Meguiar's, it's a synthetic polymer with no abrasives. The advantages of Zaino over Meguiar's: Zaino's shine and protection lasts months, not weeks like Meguiar's, Zaino is very easy to apply and buff (can't say the same for Meguiar's as I always worked my arm off using their producs), Zaino attracts less dust/dirt than carnauba products, Meguiar's will literally melt off your car in hot weather whereas Zaino will never melt, Zaino is 99.9% optically clear creating perfect reflections (truly a unique quality that no other product can claim), Meguiar's will tint your paint a yellowish color over time because of the yellow wax (I know from first hand experience), Zaino offers UV protection from the sun whereas no carnauba offers such protection, Did I mention Zaino is easy to use?
, Zaino technology is far more advanced than Meguiar's, Zaino customer service is second to none as you can call Sal whenever you like and get consistent information (Meguiar's customer reps offer differing and often contradicting advice on the same products), Did I mention Zaino shines like hell?
I suppose you get the picture....
About DAWN, you only wash with Dawn ONE time as surface prep to remove all that Meguiar's wax (or other wax) so Zaino can bond properly to your paint. Zaino won't bond over waxes or oils so they must be stripped. Dawn is an easy way to strip them. Never make a habit of washing with DAWN. Always use a quality car wash soap, preferably Zaino Z7.
Using several coats of Zaino Z5 will help fill in your swirl marks. Z5 is nonabrasive and should be tried before using an abrasive product. If your swirls still remain, they'll require an abrasive to remove instead of fill, such as 3M swirl remover #39009.

If you are really serious about your car, Zaino is for you. It is the hands down favorite on many message boards.
You will also want to clay your car, after you use the Dawn, to remove any contaminants and get it back to the original smooth surface.

SO i have to wash with dawn first, then clay my car, then re-wash it with zaino car wash, next use the z1 stuff, then z5, then z2, or should i use z2 before i use z5. How long does the clay bar last i mean should i buy two of them for the first time or will one be sufficient. When will i use z6 or do i. The last thing is that i should get z2 not z3 correct. thanx!
Two bars of clay come with the Zaino clay jar. I've used mine over and over again. The Z-2 and Z-5 polishes are for clear coated cars, the Z-3 is for non-clear coated cars. The Z-5 is like a thicker version of the Z-2 and is better for filling swirl marks. Alot of Zaino users with dark cars use the Z-5 polish because of its better ability to fill in the swirls, which are more noticeable on dark cars.
