Zaino Reapplication question
Zaino Reapplication question
I used Zaino for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I washed it with Dawn, went to the claybar, then the Z1 and then the Z5. It looked great, but there are still a lot of swirl marks so I want to put more coats of Z5 on the car.
I have only driven the car three a couple of times since I applied the Zaino. Do I just wash the car and put on the Z5 again? Is there anything else that I need to do before applying Z5 again? I know next to nothing about car waxing and the sort…

Ya, all you really need to do is give the car a nice washing with Z7 Car Wash, and you are good to go with the next coat of Z5.
A recommendation, though, is to give a spray down with Z6 gloss enhancer before and after coats of Z5 (or Z2 for that matter)... but to be honest, I get lazy half the time and skip that step.

But I always use Z6 on the sponge to help the Z5/Z2 (usually Z2) go on smoother. I think it shines better too. I usually do a coat of Z6 after every other Z2 coat.
You get out of it what you put in to it.
Quick Z-wash. Then a quick coat of Z2. Your done.
Until you begin to suffer from Z-madness...
Then it's three coats of Z5 followed by two coats of Z2 with Z6 sprayed in between each coat... or some combo thereof depending what's on TV and or how much beer is in the refrig. The swirl marks will lessen over time, but on the black 97TA they have never totally disappeared. But overall, I know my black TA kept getting better and better, and the maintenance to keep it clean has certainly gotten easier. Basically it's your car do as little or as much as you want, you'll always have results with Zaino.

Depends on how you feel at the moment...
If I'm in the garage... I just spray directly from the bottle onto the car. Then I use one side of a towel to spread / wipe. Then the other side of the towel to buff off.
If worried about overspray of the Z6 wastefully dripping off, then spray Z6 onto one of those applicators and then wipe it on followed by the towel to finish.
Caution though; if you are using the Z6 as a quick cleaner because the car got dusty on the way to a car show or something of the like, I recommend using the wasteful towel method above. You don't want to be "pushing" or "rubbing" dust and debris into your Zaino finish with an applicator. The big fluffy towel won't be so harmful with constant "flipping".

Everything "depends"... elements the car is exposed to, etc.
I'm in southeasten Pa. and typically I put on multiple layers in the Spring and just an application here or there throughout the Summer and Fall to "freshen" up the feel. I do the towel / t-shirt test. On the 97TA it should fall by gravity off the hood / fender. If the towel or T-shirt needs a little more coaxing to slide off, I put another coat of Zaino on. On my garage kept, try to avoid the rain car, I tend to get a couple of months or more out of Zaino the way I like it. I have heard that some get six months before they reapply. But I do know for a fact that it certainly outlast by a large margin the Meguiar's line.... and Zaino doesn't haze.

Zaino has been known to last 6-10 months before it's completely gone. Whereas most all carnauba products lose their shine after about a month, the Zaino shine will remain for several months, with regular washings and maintainence. It's lasting power (shine) and durability are the main reasons Zaino is king.
I do completely agree with the above poster about the conditions though. Since every car is subjected to different driving and environmental conditions, noone can say for certain how long it would last. I can say that in almost all head to head comparisons, Zaino usually always comes out on top for it's lasting abilities.
