Question The Zaino 24hrs between coats dilema

I really want to buy and apply the Zaino products... but I live in an apartment, so my car is parked in a car port, and gets dusty fairly fast, and have to drive my Z28 every day, anyway...

My problem is the 24 hr waiting period between coats. There is just no way I am going to be able to go carless for several days while applying all these coats of polish.

What has everyones solution been to this?

Just because you are supposed to wait 24 hours after the 1st coat is removed before applying the 2nd doesnt mean you cant drive your car. Just wash and Z6 it again before you add more Z2/5/whatever. Or you could wait for this new stuff comin out that is supposed to eliminate the wait period. KevinSS knows more about this then me though.

I remember reading something about a new product from Zaino coming soon, and was hoping on holding off, but it is getting late (I live in Ohio) in the season...

Any clue on a release date for the 'new & improved' Zaino?

If not, any other comments on the 24hr waiting period?

Question

On other question... I didn't see anywhere on the Zaino site that mentions being able to order by credit card....

Is this ever going to happen? It would be a MAJOR convenience upgrade!

It may be ready later in Sept.

ZFX.... The new Zaino product will be an accelerative additive that can be mixed
with Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5....
Below are just a few of its properties....

1. When mixed as per directions, you will not need to apply Z-1...
2. It will reduce the drying time, thus making the polish more user friendly
in damp environments...
3. It will increase the gloss factor and extend the durability level..
4. It will have an instant cure time, so you can immediately apply multiple
coats.. No more waiting between coats...
5. And more........

So stay tuned and please be patient for the release date...

Hope this clears things up...

You are putting more thougt in this than needed, just put the Zaino on, wait for it to dry, wipe off and drive the car, do another coat when ever you feel like it, one coat is all you need for paint protection.

Also, a coat of Zaino cures faster when outside temps are above 70 degrees, when that hot it cures in 6 to 7 hours.

Thanks for the info...

basically, my thought process was, if I go and Clay Bar the car, apply one coat, and the drive the car before applying the additional coats, I'd have all kind of nasty bugs and stuff on the car, and I'd be back to square one almost.... I was afraid of gettign gunk in between coats, no to mention the multiple washings of the car day-after-day... (Maybe I am just too lazy )

Talking

If you do get bugs, tar or just plain dirt on the car, go ahead and wash again. You can even use the clay on Zaino and it won't hurt it.

That is going to happen no matter what kind of wax or polish you use, just part of owning AND driving a car. Everyone should wash their cars once per week and use a detailer spray of some kind, also no matter what kind of wax you use.

I was afraid of gettign gunk in between coats,

Will not be a problem only within one week or so, the Z-7 is a powerful car wash and nothing will stick to a coat of Zaino once you can laid it down.

no to mention the multiple washings of the car day-after-day...

It all depends on how clean you want to keep your car, if I do not drive in the rain, I wipe my car down in the after noon with a California Car Duster, use the Z-6 to remove the bugs from the front and touch up areas on the paint with Z-6 and I am ready to go to work the next day with a show car clean ride.

(Maybe I am just too lazy )

Zaino is very durable, just add additional coats when you can or desire to to improve the shine and protection.

I'm just curious, why do you have to wait 24 hours between coats? I never got that...

The last coat has to cure so the next coat can "build" , as I said above if warm the 24 hours is shortened.

I see, so if its cooler out and you put the next coat on right after, it's just kinda smearing it around?

No, you have it backwards, please re-read my post above, it said this:

Also, a coat of Zaino cures faster when outside temps are above 70 degrees, when that hot it cures in 6 to 7 hours.
