Zaino

I have never used Zaino before but I would like to try it out. What do I need to get started, and how do I apply the stuff? I figure I need the ZFX,Z-1. and Z-2, but besides that is there anything else that I need to get to finish the job?

Thanks.

You do not need both Z1 and ZFX, one or the other. ZFX has many benefits that Z1 doesn't though so most just go with the ZFX since it's much easier and quicker than going with Z1. Other than that, all you'll need is Z2 and/or Z5 polish, Z6, and Z7. If you have minor swirls, you'd probably need Z5 polish, if not , just opt for the Z2 polish instead. I use and love both though, so it's really up to you. Some folks only use Z5 and don't ever use Z2.....while others use both. Z2 is great for that final "showcar" touch. Both Z2 and Z5 provide the same level of protection though.

Basically, all you need to do is wash with DAWN soap to remove any existing wax from your car so the Zaino can bond. Then do any necessary prep like claying. The Zaino Z18 clay is great as is Mother's or Clay Magic. Then, if you have an oxidation or significant swirls you will need to do more prep with a swirl remover and/or paint cleaner. Doing the proper prep work will determine how well your final results will turn out with Zaino. 90% of obtaining the perfect finish is in the prep stage. Finally, after you're satisfied with your prep work and your paint is as perfect as you like, apply the Zaino with ZFX. You can do up to 3 coats per day with ZFX enabled polish. ZFX is extremely easy....you just mix it up per the directions, apply it, grab a cold drink, and then buff off about 15 or 30 minutes later.

Getting that perfect showcar finish really depends on how much work you are willing to put into the car. Zaino will only enhance and protect the surface under it. If you apply Zaino over imperfections, you will get imperfect results. For newer cars, generally the only prep work that is needed is an easy claying. Most older finishes or even newer finishes that are improperly cared for will need more prep for that flawless look.

Be sure to check out www.zainobros.com for all the tips, trick, and application info for all of the products.

You're thinking about the Z1.....

With the ZFX additive, you mix four to five drops of it with the polish, shake it up, and apply that mixture to the car. If you use ZFX, you are only applying one coat of product to the car. You are thinking about the traditional Z1 method, where you apply the Z1 to the entire car, then apply either Z2 or Z5 on top of the Z1. With this method you have two products on the paint at one time.

Take at look at the ZFX kit here.... http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...ory_Code=Zaino The small vial inside the 1st bottle is the actual ZFX additive. You mix up 1 to 2 ounces of polish inside the ZFX botles that come with the kit and apply that to the car. This eliminates having two products on the car, plus ZFX has many otehr advantages that Z1 doesn't allow for. Such as, you can do up to 3 coats of polish per day with ZFX, and it creates a harder, more durable, and glossier finish. I still use both Z1 and ZFX, but it's clear to me, at least, that Zaino functions much better with ZFX.

The Z1 (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...ory_Code=Zaino) produt only needs to be applied for the initial coat and once every 6 months or 8-10 coats thereafter.

You do not use ZFX with Z1. Z1 should be applied for your first coat but is not necessary when using ZFX. The ZFX needs to be mixed with either Z2, Z3 or Z5.
