Z1 question

I have heard you are supposed to Z1 every 10 coats or so of Zaino. I did this yesterday, but I wonder if I went about it right. I just put Z1 on and then put Z2 on. I didn't wash with dawn or reclay. It could just be me, or maybe it's a little hazy today, but my paint doesn't seem to have the shine like it did. Did I mess up?

Re: Z1 question

Did you put Z1 on a dirty car? If so I would think you messed up..... big time.

I washed it with Z7 first and did the Z6 thing after I polished it.

How much of each product did you apply and was it COMPLETELY dry when you buffed it off.

Have you tried washing the car yet? Or, have you tried using a damp towel or Z6? IMO, sounds like you may have some product left on the surface that wasn't removed that is causing it to look dull. A damp towel, wash, or maybe Z6 should take care of it...

Well I put real thin coats of each on. I put the Z1 on and went and got my haircut. It dried at least an hour. When I got back I put the Z2 on, detailed the inside of the car and the tires, and then I believe I let it sit for a little bit. It didn't dry as long as the Z1 did.

I probably would've done another Z2 and Z6 coat today, but I was glued to the tv and then I had to leave.

It could just be me,but it just doesn't look as good as before. I looked at mmy hood under my carport light, and the surface just doesn't seem as glossy. When I get an idea in my head about something,it's hard to convince me otherwise. My wife thinks I'm crazy.

Correct me if im wrong someone, but I dont think you should let Z1 dry.... youre supposed to put Z2 on over wet Z1.

You can apply Z-2, Z-3 or Z-5 over wet or dry Z-1, it works fine either way.

This could have something to do with it. Z1 does not actually need to dry or set up like the polishes. You need to apply the Z2 or Z5 immediately after applying the Z1. No need to wait for Z1 to dry. After you apply the Z2 over Z1 let it set for about 1 to 2 hours. Also sounds as if the Z2 may not have fully cured. Basically, you shouldn't let the Z1 dry by itself without Z2 or Z5 on top. I'm thinking this may have caused it, but it's hard to tell. Wish I could see the car in person and help ya out.

On the back of the Z1 it says allow to haze. I guess that is what threw me off.
The Z1 and Z2 was much harder to get off than Z2 has been for me.

Should I go for Z6 and another coat of Z2 and then Z6 again? Or should I Z1 again too?

You guys are always very helpful!

You do not need to apply Z-1 again, just Z-6, Z-2 and Z-6 and you will be fine.

Thank you. The funny thing is that it looks ok today. I haven't touched the car since Friday. Go figure.

I guess it's just me.
