Post Winter storage

Hey guys, I need some help. This year I moved from Calgary to Grande Prairie which is way up north. I had to rent a place on an acreage which had a two mile dirt road up to it. I barely ever drove the car, it sat under a cover for most of the summer. I had to use the pressure washers at the car wash and the soap they have just stripped the zaino right off eventually. I just put it away the other day, the only place I could find to store it was in a farmers barn, not heated with a dirt floor. I put a quick coat of turtle wax on it before I put it away. I was in a hurry when I put it away so I drove it out to this farmers place and put the cover on it. I went back out a couple of days later when I had time and tried to wash it. It had these little white flecks on the hood, not sure what they are from, they rub off with some Z-6 and some pressure but it is a lot of work and too much rubbing makes the paint look bad around it. I think it might be left over soap from when I took the cover to the laundromat. If it doesn't get disturbed can I leave it under the cover till the spring and then work on it, I should have a garage to do it in then. Right now, I have to do everything outside, washing, waxing etc. so it gets dusty as I'm doing it. And out at the farmers place, I have to take it outside to wash it and its really windy this time of year so I don't want to do that either. Will it be alright if I can hold off till spring. I have a friend at a body shop that can help me apply 3m swirl remover, he has the tools and the know how, he basically got rid of the key job someone did on my bumper. I appreciate any input, thanks guys

You really should get those flakes off. Since you can't wash it outside you can take some carwash soap and mix it with water in a spray bottle and do a section at a time then wipe off with a rag. Then just take the z6 your using and go over the car one more time. If you do happen to scratch the car doing this, the scratchs will buff out when your friend does it in the spring. Hope this helps a little.

Thats a good idea, I'm just wondering how I would get the soapy solution off once I got rid of the flakes, unless I had another spray bottle with just water in it to rinse with, or maybe just a bucket of each, soap solution and rinse water and just do the areas effected. Do you think I should use a clean wash mit to try and rub them out or just a pure cotton towel? Sometimes I swear the pickier I get at trying to keep it pristine, the more damage I do.
Thanks very much for the help, anyone elses opinions are welcome.

Use a clean wash mitt. Don't make the soap water solution to wet(where you can't control the flow on the paint) and after you scrub wipe off with a big fluffy towel. Then you use z6, quick detailer, etc. and go over the spots you did to get of any soap that might have dried on the paint since you can't really flush the paint with water after your done.
