White paint owners

To anyone that owns a white car. What is the best wax for my 97 camaro? should I use a seperate wax for my black mirrors, roof, and front lights? I wax my hard top its shiny but leaves that white wax in the craters that are on my roof. I use NXT GEN not the NXT 2.0. I used a couple and like NXT Gen looks good, smells good, feels good, and comes off good. But it doesn't last that long:-( I heard there is a "BLACK WAX" for black paints, is it worth it?
Thanks

Seems that no one wants to help.=)

I use Zaino for the Ranger (White) as well as the Z. I have not used conventional wax in a long time but I will tell you that the Zaino is very durable, but I've never been able to obtain the 'swirl free' look that others have. Maybe it's the towels, maybe it's my technique, but it was much easier to use than regular wax ever was.

Did I find that any particular wax was better for white or black paint? No.

I hope this helps.

Jeff

If you want something you can buy locally you'll probably want to try Meguiars Gold Class paste wax. It's like 12 bucks or so.

It produces great results on any car and it's fast because you don't do it one panel at a time. You do the entire car then buff off. You have to be careful to do it in the shade because if the surface of the car is hot when you put it on and it bakes onto the finish you'll have to wash the car again. I detail cars for money, and it's what I use on my clients.

P21S is great on any color vehicle and hides minor scratches.
The more coats the better.

I have never tried Zaino and when I did call and asked some routine questions I got attitude so I don't plan on buying a product if the customer service isn't helpful.

My buddy used Zaino on his Maxima a few years ago and it turned out pretty good.

you need to use a higher quality wax. The cheap **** like meguire;s has cleaners, sealants, and other ingrediants to create a all in one wax.
Listen to the dude above. P21S, its $35 and worth every penny. But as a high quality wax its only going to give a great shine. I would get their paint cleanser ($12) to first go over and clean the paint. (works like a glaze in my opinion) Or a swirl remover, than 2 coats of wax 24 hrs apart.
The cheap waxes will leave crud and white marks on plastic.

I polish and seal with Wizard's Products. Amazing stuff. I don't use wax. I use detailing spray between washings.

I've used Zaino on 2 white cars, a silver car, a blue car and my Z (Green) without any problems.

Basically you will need to do four things:
WASH USING DAWN the 1st time to remove all old wax
#1: Go over the larger scratches with Meguirs Scratch-X
#2: Use Zaino Z-5 Until you don't see any swirls (I had to to do 6-7 coats with our winter beater Subaru one year
#3: About 3 coats of Z-2 after the Z-5

While this sounds like a lot of work, Zaino pretty much rubs on, and then just about wipes off And a bottle of Z-5, and Z-2 goes a real long way, so much that you won't even run out of Z-5 with 7 coats

Just make sure to use the ZFX additive for quick drying. Should be able to put on about 4-5 coats at a time before you should wait 24 hours.

So what I usually do in the spring is plan a weekend car wash.... on 1st day I Wash with Dawn, do Scratch-X, 3 coats Z-5, then a coat of Z-2. Next day start over: Wash with regular Car Wash (Not Dawn), another 3 coats Z-5, then 2 coats Z-2. If the car doesn't a least look Real Nice after that you have real issues. I also usually repeat the process in a few weeks on the Winter Beater Subies. After yearly spring cleanings like above, a few minor ones over the Summer and the fact it's garaged, the Z is usually only in need a coat of Z-5, then a coat of Z-2
