Wheel cleaner that works??
I've used all those "wheel cleaner"s etc and nothing really seems to get all the dirt off. Will Carb cleaner work or will it strip all my paint off? Do you guys know of anything that works? I know I can scrub them...but I'm kinda lazy...
I am using Armor All Wheel Cleaner in the Silver bottle for aluminum Rims, and i have never seen anything better, strips all grease and brake dust right out. I spray it on, Wait 2 minutes, Spray off with Water and Wipre them down and BINGO, instant shiney Wheels. I use turtle Tire Wax for the Rubber Tires them selves.
Also i know it's a pain but once every three months I take the Wheels Off one at a time and User the Armour all Wheel cleaner and get the insides cleaned because i cant always reach them.
hope that helps

Don't know what kind of wheel you have, but if the wheels are silver painted like mine, I used Simple Green. Then I applied Meguires wax/cleaner. I was surprised how clean the wheels were after I used it. Now I just use the Zaino soap to maintain, and
ocassionally apply the Meguiers wax/cleaner.

The only kind of cleaner I recommend is Simple Green, other than that I only use soap and water and get down and use the hand wash method. I do not like the acid based cleaners like AA, many can damage and dull a clear coated wheel over its life time. Also many of the acid cleaners like AA are SERIOUSLY dangerous to your health. HA acid is not good for the central nervous system AT ALL.

or diluted with water? What is the proper proportion of Simple Green to mix with a gallon of water?

I use this stuff called "The DUKE." It is a multi-purpose cleaner that won't harm your paint or chrome. You mix one part duke with 4 parts water. Works great. You can buy this stuff at the Home Depot. It costs about $6 cdn..but you get a 2 litre bottle...which lasts for ever..........
PS. Not good for Aluminuim polished wheels.........
