What kind of car wax and...

What kind of car wax should I use on my TA, also what should I use to keep the interior looking nice? Leather seats of course, and what about the dash and vinyl?

I've heard a lot of good about Zaino. That's what I plan on using later this year.

Nothing will ever touch my paint but Zaino. As for the interior, I actually like Eagle One better. The Zaino stuff is very good, but I wanted more of a shiny look.

some people will laugh, but I have always used Armor All for my interior Vinyl/plastic. As much as people have talked bad about Armor All, I have yet to see anyone bring up any proof whatsoever, but I have been using it for years with absolutely no problems (In fact, my 76 Skylark had one of the best looking Vinyl tops around according tot he body shop guy, because I Armor All'd the wee out of it weekly).

Zaino is awesome wax, I have used Zymol as well but I know some people have had issues putting it on fading paint where it would streak blue everywhere.

zaino for the exterior (used to use mothers and meguiars, these two (i found) had a nice finish to them but dont last as long and are more of a pain in the *** to use than zaino). for the interior i use mothers preserves . the leather i use simoniz, mothers, switch around quite often actually keep it clean

Are you aware there is a "Show & Shine" forum? Posts like this really belong there, not on LT1 Tech. The real "tech" questions get pushed off the bottom of the page before anyone even gets a chance to look at them.

Zaino, hands down. I tried virtually every product for over 30 years before trying Zaino. I'll never use anthing else, it is the best.

I used a couple of products on my car. I started with a 1500 rubbing compound to prepare the paint and then moved to Mequiars #2 fine scratch, then Mequiars #9 swirl remover and then finished it off with the new gold class wax. The shine on the car is unbelieveable. When you run a towel across the surface, it just floats and if you leave it on the hood, slides down on its own. That gold class stuff is awesome, just for the heck of it we tried it on my mothers wagon, after only a wash and the metallic in the car jumped out, no middle waxing required. The Zaino stuff isn't available up here in Canada, or at least that I have seen, although I have heard so many great things about it.

For my leather, I've been using the Mothers line and the same with the vinyl/plastic.

Hope that helps you

Cool ZR

Cool ZR, there are Zaino distributors in Canada. You can e-mail Zaino and ask who the closest is to you.

I'll have to look into that. Anyone done a comparison between the Meguiars Gold Class and the Zaino?? I am very impressed with the shine and especially on an up preped vehicle.

Thanks Kevin

Zaino will outlast Gold Class by months.

I was a big Gold Class fan many years ago, so I suppose I can offer a true comparison. The GC shines really nice......for a couple weeks. The protection is not great at all for that wax and it seemed to leave too much white residue. Zaino is like night and day comparison. Outlasts/outprotects GC by about 6 to 1. Of course, Zaino shines great too and leaves no white powder or residue in the body lines! Zaino is also easy on easy off. I'd seriously prefer Zaino any day over Gold Class or any other Meguiar's wax for that matter. And I was a BIG Meguiar's nut a few years ago, so Zaino had to be pretty impressive for me to give up on Meguiar's and related products. I mainly wanted the best protection I could find, and Zaino is basically it for its ease of use. The shine isn't half bad either!

For the leather.....Zaino Z10, Eagle One, Mother's, all make fine leather products. I prefer Z10 and E1 so far.

For the dash......can't beat 303 Aerospace with a stick!

Mike
