What is the BEST car wash/wax?
I have a Red '95 Z28 with a Black top (not convertible). I have tried too many brands of car wash/wax to even begin listing, and none of them really work that great. The best car wash I have found so far is Mother's California Gold, but it doesn't even do the GREATEST job. And the best wax I've found so far is Mother's Reflections, it really does make my car shine, but I need something that can take out the light scratches & rock-chips that I have as well as make it shine like glass. I've tried Meguire's Scratch-X for the scratches but it didn't work at all. The scratches/chips aren't bad or deep either. There HAS to be something out there that REALLY works. I've heard a lot about Zaino on this web site but I have no idea where to obtain this stuff or learn more about it. I really need your guys' help on this, let me know what you think. Thanks!
Yup. Here comes the Zaino. I've been using it for 3 years on my daily driver. The shine is unbearably shiny, it lasts for months on end, and it's super quick to get on and off. The only time consuming part is the prep, which might take you a whopping hour!
There are other products out there that'll help as well. The Stoner brand makes excellent glass cleaner and tire shine that you'll see recommended here, and a few different interior protectants pop up regularly. I like the 303 Aerospace Protectant. Someone here recommended it and I grabbed it at my local boating supply store.
If you're going to stay store-bought, Meguiars has my vote. Their claybar is crappy, but their polishes are nice. My clay disintegrated, and I've read of others doing the same.
But if you're going to spend the money, go ahead and get the Zaino starter kit. It'll last you a LONG time.

Rewash with carwash and claybar
Dry
Z6 mist the car (wiping dry as you go) to help the polish bond
Prep done
If you have swirls use 3M SMR if you want. If they're not too bad, try a few coats of Z5/ZFX to hide them. There's something new coming up though in the world of swirl removers to keep your eye out for
I'm not allowed to say anymore. I just hope I can brag about it once it's finished. If you're swirl-free or don't care, then the prep is done once you dawn-wash and claybar. Enjoy.
