Wenol any better?
Wenol any better?
A month ago I sanded w/ 800 grit and used Meg. Gold wax to shine my brake lines under the hood. When I open the hood the other day to change the oil I saw that the lines were rusted and worse than being untouched for years. I wanted to get the Wenol metal polishes (all 3 steps) but haven't had the extra dough. While at NAPA I picked up a can of the Eagle One ND wadding. I used it and it worked OK. I'll see how long it lasts. My question is whether the Wenol will work/last better than the Eagle One? Is there any polish that is better that I am not aware of?
Are you talking about the small ABS metal brake lines? if so I don't see how they could rust, they look like aluminum to me (I have polished them also, I first used a scotch brite pad and some glass polish and finished with some metal polish)
Wenol is good metal polish, so is Blue Magic, Magic Mix.

I didn't think so either seeing as how they were only dull after 10 years. A buddy of mine into specialty metals said that he thought that it was stainless. He saw the rust and thought that maybe it's cheap ss like Borla uses on it flanges. I don't know. All I know is that the lines were completely cover with a thin layer of rust. I guess there may have been a clear coat that I removed with the sand paper. I have read about people shining them up the same way I did and have never heard of this happening. Maybe all of he moisture in the black cloud that follows me caused it?
Where can those two polishes you mentioned be bought?
