Which way is better to wash a car?

ive been getting a lot of water spots on my car and windows...so i was wondering what way is the best way to wash the car. Whenever i wash it i wash like a small section and then spray it off. Now while im doing the rest of the car that section will begin to dry up and leave water spots. Would it be better to wash the whole car at once, and then spray it all down at the end? Or if i did this would the soap like dry up onto the car? I just need a way to get all the water spots from forming on my car.

what i do is i wash a section at a time, but each time when i spray that section clean, i spray down the whole car to keep it from drying, this works pretty well....

are you washing it is the sun ???

the water should not be drying, are you using hot, warm, or cold, wash water ? is the car hot from being in the sun ??

i hose down the whole car, then wash the whole car. rinse the whole car, then take the nozzle off and let the free flowing water run from top to bottom. this makes the water sheet off of the car and it is easier/faster to dry it.

then i move on to the wheels and tires.

Have you tried the Mr. Clean Auto Dry? I got one just to try it. It WORKS! I have a black TA and do not have to dry it at all.

Now, it can get sort of expensive if you like in an area with really hard water (San Antonio is BAD). What I did was went to Lowes and bought a water filter that businesses use for ice machines (cost about $20). I put that on right next to the faucet, and the filters on the Auto Dry last at least 4 times longer. The water filter should last at least 10,000 gallons and the replacement element is only about $3.00.

make sure your car is cool and you are washing in the shade.

I wash the front with a yellow scrubby pad to get all the bugs off and rinse. I then take that scrubby pad and go over the left side of the windsheid and mirror to remove bugs, then to the lower rockers on the left side with that scrubby pad to get off those plasterd on road goobers. I then go over the left side of the car with the wash mitt, including the left half of the roof, left half of the back window, left half of the hood, etc. I then rinse off the whole side. I wash the back of the car and then rinse. I then repeat the same step on the right side of the car and rinse. Now it is time to do the wheels, I use the same yellow scrubby on them. If I'm feeling special I'll spray some degreaser in the wheel wells and get a nasty sponge and clean them too. Every time I rinse, I spray the entire car down, thus cutting down on water spots.

To dry I use old bath towels. I go over the glass real quick, just so the water doesn't spot on it.(I clean them later with newspaper) I take my time on the paint, making sure it is perfectly dry. Once your towel becomes saturated, set it to the side and grab a dry one.

Using this technique I can get my Navy Blue Metallic paint spotless every time I wash it.
