waxing glass

Does waxing glass do the same thing something like rain-x would, or is this a bad thing to do?

I used eagle one wax as you dry on my fathers truck and it said it can be used on glass so im wondering if a paste wax will do the same thing.

Re: waxing glass

I don't know about the paste wax, but I know you can use Zaino Z2 on glass, and it works like a mojo charm.

Not sure on paste wax either although I imagine it's the same. You can use any wax really on the windows. I use my spare FX since I switched to CG paste wax.

Re: waxing glass

I know someone who waxes the glass on his cars...Seems to have no ill effects and the water rolls right off. I might start doing it to my windows.

I wax all my windows and the water beads like on the body of the car... I don't wax the windshield though... I'd think the wax would smear from the wipers when it rains and make it hard to see at night.

Nope no smearing.
Works just like Rain-X.
paste wax is fine.

Re: waxing glass

Certain waxes can smear when the windsheild wipers are used.

Re: waxing glass

I use Klasse AIO on my windshield. No residue on the pits. Last WAY longer than Rain-X or even No Touch(for w/s). With Rain-X I wipe it a few times and I can actually see the beads getting bigger and rolling off slower. No smears.

I used to put Eagle One Wet and I've tried Wax-As-You-Dry, but it don't last very long either.
