Wax vs. Polish
Wax vs. Polish
I am poor. I want my car to look really nice. It's got a few surface scratches that I can barely feel when I rub my fingernail on them. There are some minute chips that my fingernail doesn't feel. What's the best way to restore my paint, and then get it looking like a mirror finish. I've got a dark metallic green paint. I have:
Mother's Carnuaba Cleaner Wax
Turtle Wax polish
Meguiars show wax
Turtle Wax (the kind that is supposed to match your paint and then stick in the scratches to make them disappear.
Please help me get my car into show condition. Thanks. Also, I've heard a lot about this Zaino stuff. How much does it cost? I'd love to get some, but my car payment comes first. Thanks

For your scratches and swirls I would get 3M Scratch and Swirl Remover, you can find it at most Pep Boys type stores, for around $10.00, it does a great job when used with a buffer, and can be used by hand as well. You can get the Zaino prices and info on the Zaino web site at www.zainobros.com if you have any questions there are plenty of Zaino users that will be happy to help you.
I would pick up a bottle of mothers reflections polish, its like 12.99 hit up a few coats of that as far as polish, and use the carnubba cleaner wax, once the paint is clean and straight, maybe the clay bay if the paint is rough to the touch. No its no zaino, but zaino isnt 12.99 either.
The 3M products Carl mentioned are easy to get and not too expensive to use. You can use wax but you will need to apply it more often then not if your car sees rain and such. Zaino is a long term product that pays for itself in the long run. I've been through many different waxes and none last and shine better then Zaino.
