Wash between polish and wax?

I was wondering what the accepted process is. Do you rewash the car after polishing before you wax it?
I do just because I want to make sure I get all of the polish off of the car before I seal it up with the wax.
After I wash it I let it sit for a while to make sure it is good and dry before I continue but am I just wasting time and should I go strait to wax?

You can also wipedown with a mix of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and water. Cheap and effective.

rubbing alcohol or prep all will take everything off the paint. Thats what i do.

Washing the car allows you to get the compound and polish out of the cracks and body lines.

Sometimes I wash it(not doing the best job, mainly shooting water in between body panels) and than use prep all when Im done.

Thats what I use after compounding and then again after polishing . The last wipedown before applying the sealent , I use Zaino Z6 . I tape the edges , trim, emblems and moldings off with 3m green tape to avoid any build up to worry about digging out .
