Read some time ago that CZ28 was being sent some - has any extensive testing/evaluation been done on this product yet?

Watching an infomercial on it now - lotta classic car users trying it out on their cars at some show - seems like a clever infomercial using it on these nice classics since owner's tend to car for their cars more.

Ad seems to be doing a good job - I think I might do some testing myself with it; I'm just worried about durability.

"Turtle Wax ICE goes on clear and stays clear - Offering shine and protection for up to 6 months or 20 Car Washes!"
-who knows though - Nu Finish claims once a year, or, 52 washes.

Anyway, http://www.icepolish.com/ seems to have a pretty good deal going there regardless. I don't know the shelf price, but, if it's around $15 like I'm expecting, this isn't bad.

I am not encouraging anyone to buy this, I have no idea how the product performs, and I am in no way associated with TurtleWax - I'm just simply pointing this offer out since these forums are about helping one another and SAVING MONEY!

Re: Turtle Wax Ice
it also says about no white residue, well if you wax your car(other brands) you are supposed to rise it off right after to get rid of the residue, i see the big deal there. i use zymol and i wax it then buff it out and there is some white residue, so i spray the car down wipe it clean and it looks great, i dont think im going to buy this. you still need to wipe it off.

Re: Turtle Wax Ice
There are other benefits claimed besides the fact that there is no residue left over.

They aren't necessarily referring to the white, powedery type I believe - but the wax that gets in crevices and inside lines/pieces, etc.

Re: Turtle Wax Ice
OK, purchased some from K-mart because it was on sale, $14.XX for the wax/microfiber/applicator package and $8.XX for the detailing spray. Seems comparable to the website I originally posted, considering you get another detailing spray and a microfiber mitt.

I will try it out Tuesday and report results/pics.

EDIT:

ALSO,

I'm kinda worried about it's durability - I'm REALLY questioning whether or not it was even designed to be durable. Besides when they mention Turtle Wax, the back of the Ice packaging uses the word wax TWICE - and they are in strange contexts: e.g. "So you can get the shine you want, with a fraction of the effort and without most of the problems associated with traditional car wax."

--in regards to the quote, they never mention protection. In fact, it is officially called "ice synthetic liquid polish" - read packaging, all I find is "brilliant high gloss shine", "mirror-like", "shine exterior plastic", "now you can shine all exterior urfaces", "most revolutionary technology ever created for making your car shine", etc....

in fact, the word "shine" appears 12 times on the packaging

I was FINALLY able to find the word protection on the actual bottle - "clear synthetic formula for unbeatable shine and protection"

Just seems VERY strange how their whole marketing thing is ENTIRELY about shine, when the purpose (main purpose) of a wax is supposed to be protection.

So why would they call it "ice synthetic liquid polish"? -I'm just assuming for now that they didn't want it to be associated with traditional car waxes.

To further support whatever I'm getting at, their motto is even "STOP WAXING, START ICING" - then they go on and hardly mention wax and protection, etc. and call it a polish. Why not "ICE - HARD AND SHINY synthetic liquid WAX", or even just "ICE - HARD AND SHINY" - even that would be more convincing that it has decent protective properties.

hmmm.........I need to stop reading into things so much.....

What do you guys think?

Re: Turtle Wax Ice
well i know that some people have posted up their results with the stuff, and it looks pretty good, but i got the same results from normal turtle wax polish and a thing of unlabeled wax, so hey, if your lazy get the ICE, but i believe that with some elbow grease you can make it shine just the same, and you feel good about yourself afterwards knowing that you made the car shine that good, just my .02

Re: Turtle Wax Ice
Put some on the other day after a complete prep job - however, that included a cleaner wax as well and I don't know if ICE needed that part to be completely cured/settled/whatever, either way - really nice shine at first. Extremely easy to apply - easy to over apply because so little goes so far; and it's hard to see going on without the proper lighting. Removal was easy as well......I'll write more details later, but anyway - next day was hard rain non-stop. Water was repelled really surprisingly well - washed it when I got home, looked good, rained more today - I will wash tomorrow again, and possibly rewax to see if anything was lost.

Anyways, one thing I read that I did not know is that ICE is self cleaning - which means, no layering (no it doesn't have abrasives)

Re: Turtle Wax Ice
Like I said in my post about it, it does give a good shine and it is easy to apply... I used it weekend before last and it rained the entire following week... I decided to wax it again last weekend and I did notice it had dulled some through all the rain... So I don't know how well it will hold up with multiple washing... It only rained once this week, and it still looks good... When I did mine, I didn't use a wax before using it... Waxing first may help the shine last longer.

Re: Turtle Wax Ice
If anything, the detailing spray is nice - comes off easier than any I've used, and I used it in the sun.

I'd recommend the detailing spray - not so sure about the "wax" yet....
