Stupid winter/salt

Ok my car is covered in salt and road residue, I am pretty frigtened to take it through an automatic wash and obviously its too damn cold to get out there with a frozen hose and a bucket of soapy ice Soooo where should I go to take it to get washed? A do it yourself wash house... But I read in another thread that the brushes used there arent good... Im so confused This is my first winter with my Camaro with my other cars I wouldnt wash anything until the spring, but I hate letting all this crap sit on my paint, and ideas? Thanks

I always went to the quarter place and sprayed it off myself, including under the car. Do NOT use a brush. If you have to, take a cotton wash mitt with you, spray on some soap and wash it lightly with the mitt. More than likely just spraying it off will remove the salt.

Go to one of the do-it-yourself washes, take your supplies and use their water only, you might want to take 2 buckets, use one bucket to wash your wash mitt after you wash the area of the car (keep that filled with clean water) , fill the other bucket with the car wash soap to clean the car, this will help keep most of the dirt and salf out of the car wash soap bucket.

My car and sounds like yours too,Get so dirty so fast that to really hand wash them in the winter is kind of dumb. Dont get me wrong Id like to hand wash, dry and Zaino every night but its tuff when they spred the salt the next day. So this is all i do. ill go to the quarter wash and just hose it off. I never try to rub because it scratches so easy.I have too much time invested in this finish to rub. I will however possibly twice a winter bring her in the garage and wash dry and Z5. Just keep her rinsed off....I feel your painnnn Mark

I usually will take the car to the pressure wash during the winter and just blast it off as best I can... including underneath the car.... (no brush or anything... just regular water)

Since I am still in an apartment, I don't have much other choice until we build our house...
