I spent a good amount of time cleaning the car up over the weekend and snapped a few pics of the results
The reflection is of the canopy I had the car parked under, along with the leaves that were laying on top of it and the windshield wipers that I had pulled up. I tried the black wax by Turtle Wax. It worked amazingly well, I know there isn't a chance of it lasting very long but to me its well worth the time to re-apply it. The colored wax seems to be a good route to take if you're wanting to hide scratches temporarily for a car show... cruise-in etc etc.

Here are a few shots of the bumper after I used a claybar on it as well. Once again, I was very happy with how it came out as well. I'd definately recommend anyone to use a claybar to remove all of the dirt and grim that embeds itself into the bumper. I remember in another post some people were asking for pics of the results. Hopefully these pics are good enough to give you an idea

I washed the car with Dawn dish soap, then the clay bar... I used quick detailer to keep the surface wet while cleaning with it. I wiped it all down then I waxed it with the color wax. It wouldn't hurt to wash it again before waxing but it seemed to work fine the way I did it. This weekend when I re-do it for a car show I may do the method you mentioned and see how it turns out.

There are two huge pics of the car for a photo shoot I had Sunday... its in black and white but it give you an idea of the shine I was able to get out of the wax

It came out very nice. I wouldn't bother claying again, though. Your method is fine (I prefer it over the wash/clay/wash method, I'd rather just buff it off). You won't remove anything by claying again...so just wash it, and reapply the wax if you'd like.
