Show my car or not??

I don't know, Im just looking for suggestions. My dad owns 1964 Chevy Impala that is completely redone, looks great, that in my opinion should be shown!

Just wondering if my 2000 Camaro SS would be interesting to anyone. Don't get me wrong, I love my Camaro!! BUT its not a classic, maybe not even not all that rare.

What do you guys/girls think.

There's no reason not to show it, at least at local cruise-ins and the like. If you're talking actual judged shows, don't expect to win any awards. My experience has been that the late-model stuff tends to get passed over in favor of classic muscle and highly modified cars. I recently put my TA in a local show and only had maybe 3 people take a serious look at it, with one guy saying how nice the car looks for being 16 years old. On the flip side, the guy next to me had a poorly done KITT replica and people were staining their shorts over the thing. The older guys tend to turn their noses up at anything that isn't a chopped and chromed-out '32 Ford, at least around here. But I say go for it, as there are guys like me who will give you props for a clean and tastefully modded LT/LS car.

Thanks TD95Z, Yeah I dig all Camaros/Cars that are old and and new, but you are right some people scoff at the not new, but not classic either kind of thing. Like I said I do love my car, at least its not a clone and its the real deal.

Thanks for your time in responding!

I've seen far more ridiculous threads on here. Oh, and on the girlfriend, I'd say there is an upper limit on "old." You wouldn't want to put your grizzle stick in an antique now would you?

If your proud of it show it, if you think it still needs work then do what you think needs to be done to make it show ready in your opinion. Any car can be shown it just depends on what the owner considers "show ready".

If it's in bad shape, don't show it. If it's in good shape, show it.

I show my GP GXP. Not everybody likes it, but I don't necessarily like their cars either. It's a rare and interesting V8 powered FWD car. Some people really dig it, others don't. Most people really dig a 4th gen Camaro at a show.

Must be a different type of crowd down there in Texas. Where I'm at, not a lot of em show up, and when they do, most folks don't give em a second look. There's a cruise night every Sunday at Quaker Steak and L ube, and I'm usually the only 4th gen TA, unless my buddies come along. It actually gets a bit annoying, because half the time it looks like the damn Ford dealership with all the brand-new stock Muskrat GT's dirtying up the lot.

These 4th gen cars actually are pretty rare if you break it down to # of SS's or z28's per year, not including the v6 cars ---

If you don't think it is enough to show off then I guess you don't take pride in your ride... I wrench on my stuff all the time and show it off whenever I can. I don't care if there is a ding in the rear fender or a scratch on the hood. Gives her character. I do my best to repair and shine her up and show her off like she is the best mother ****er sitting on salad shooter wheels.

If some douche doesn't like her he can go **** himself in his POS econobox.

Check all the show and shine tips. Clean your car up as best as you can and show it off. You will feel good when you get your first car show compliment.
