Rock chips....

How can I have these fixed w/out sanding down the area to metal. I have one or two of them that I have noticed. They are down to the metal, so I'd like to treat them before they rust....(rear, side below the sail pannel)

As we all know; rust is like cancer, once it starts it's hard to stop...

Re: Rock chips....

You could get some touch up paint from a dealer or a paint supply shop and fill them up that way.

I think the metal is galvanized so you shouldn't have to worry too much about rust.

To fix them, get some touch up paint. Duplicolor makes a nice bottle that has a roller ball pen tip to make it easy to apply the paint.

To make it look real nice, apply it until it is completely level or higher than the paint surface and then let it dry for a day. Wet sand it till it's flush with the rest of the paint and buff it out.

Personally, I think rock chips look better than globs of touch up paint so I'd leave it unless you plan on sanding and buffing.
