Restoring Shine to Front Clip

I have a black 95 Z and the front of the car has gone dull and slightly lighter than the rest of the car (which looks great). Many folks have suggested getting a fine finishing compound and buffing out the front to bring back the deep color and make it shine again. I know one alternative would be to paint it but I just don't have the $$$ right now.

Has anyone buffed out the front clip to make it look new again? If so, anyone care to share some pics.

Thanks all.

black is a bitch. I have a silver car, I wet sanded it with 1500,3k paper, than buffed it forever.

Total spent about 2hrs on it, it doesnt look new because of the rock chips, etc. But it shines....
