Question Removing Surface Scratches

Can anyone help? I just got my new 97 z28 ragtop the other day I I noticed in a few spots there are some surface scratches. They are particularly noticeable because I have the dark green/blue color paint. Its nothing too major.

I wasnt sure what I should use to get rid of these. I went to pep boys today and there were a whole shelf full of products for this. From everyone on the board I hear that zaino is a fairly good product, but do they make somthing to get rid for the scratches?

What works best?

Thanks

Depending on how deep/severe the scratches are I'd start with a mild scratch and swirl remover like 3M SMR #39009 or something like Meguiar's Scratch X. Zaino will do nothing for surface scratches. It's intended for use as a final protectant after the finish is in the best possible shape you can live with.

If those scratch products don't work, you'll need a heavier cut product, but I'd definitely start out mild and work up.

Take a look at this selection of products...... http://www.goodspeedmotoring.com/sub...egory=Polishes Many of them you can find locally, so you might look for the ones that sound best for your situation.

I'm gonna try the 3M stuff for my surface scratches, but as far as swirl marks goes...

2 coats of Zaino Z-5, and *poof*, no swirlies!

Zaino doesn't offer ANY products that will get rid of surface scratches?

3M Swirl Mark Remover #39009.. thats the best way to go. I was very impressed with it. Zaino doesn't make any products with abbrasives so therefore not strong enough to get rid of the scratches, however the 3M SMR does have that.

Z-5 will hide scratches, you need to use an abrasive product to remove scratches.
