Question about wax
Question about wax
My car just came back up from florida and the sun did a number on the paint. The car needs a damn good wax job. What is the best wax to use on a black car? Thanks for helping the apperance forum newb
Re: Question about wax
remember that you want to polish the paint. waxing with add some gloss and shine but polsihing the paint is what brings back/out the color. do not forget to clay it either. paint prep is # 1
Re: Question about wax
Gav is right. Wash, Clay, Polish, Seal/wax is the proper procedure.
Anyways, I'd go with S100 paste wax from a local Harley Davidson shop, or if you can't find that, get NXT. If mail order is an option, get Meguiar's #16 from www.autopia-carcare.com - #16 looks similar but is more durable, but S100 is the easiest wax to apply/remove, so it's a trade off (S100 also does not haze, dust, or stain trim).
*EDIT* - Look up a local detailer's supply. Anywhere that carries Meguiar's professional line of products should stock #16 Professional Paste Wax.
