To be honest, I have not used Z6 with S100 on the car now. I personally don't think it would be any problem if I used my normal QDing technique. If you wanted to play safe, you could use a QD from a good carnauba company, like Mother's Showtime, Pinnacle, etc... My QD technique isn't what I'd consider the norm, so I rarely QD anyhow, only when the car is perfectly clean. I treat a QD much like a wax or polish (only use on a clean surface), but that's just me and part of my own philosophy about car care. I realize most are completely different in this respect....

I woulnd't say the S100 makes it look "darker" but I would say it makes my red look "richer" and more vibrant in bright sun. The paint just seems to glow with a richer shine. And, I think the S100 adds a little reflectivity of its own too, so it also adds its own bright quality too. Most waxes on the market that darken contain much more carnauba than P21S/S100 wax. S100 is a beeswax/carnauba blend I believe, but doesn't contain much of either. I personally don't want a very "dark/muted" looking red, but I do like the richer glow that it adds. Most of the "wetness" from the wax comes from the oils anyhow, not the amount of carnauba. The carnauba (or any other wax type) by itself is not what adds shine/wetness in a wax because wax by itself is actually a dull substance (which is why oils are added to make it shine ). It's the amount of oils or silicone fluids that create a wet look. More wax in the formula = darker look. I believe S100 uses primarily oils for adding wetness, not silicones (could be wrong though). S100 is a VERY oily product and it applies to the surface like pure grease (oil). The more "oily" a product the more wetness, so S100 is definitely a wet looking wax. Pinnacle's Souveran is also loaded with oils.

I'm not relying on the S100 for durability either, but it does add its own glow and richness to my red without looking overly dark, and I think it would look nice on most all dark colors. For a garage queen or show car, the combination of the S100 shine enhancing cleanser (same as P21S gloss enhancing cleaner) and S100 wax would be killer in terms of shine only. I have 1 bottle of the S100 cleanser, but have not ever used it since it contains very mild cleaners, which would strip anything on the surface. If you really want a great shine though, the precleaner step adds even more shine/richness and wetness to the color. Best of all, the S100/P21S products will not stain trim or leave white residue in body lines. That's one of my biggest pet peaves, and why I've loved Zaino so much compared to most waxes on the market.

Sorry for hijacking the thread! I still have 8 coats of ZFX!

Probably 3 Z1, 12-15 Z2, and 10 or so Z5 on my truck. Slightly less of all for the Firebird (and no Z2, since it has no clearcoat).

Finals are this week. As soon as they're done, I'm going for 1 Z1, 2 Z5, and 3 Z2 coats.
