Dawn won't remove the Zaino. A light claying doesn't remove any appreciable amount of Zaino either.

Awesome, well in that case I probably have about 25-30 coats of Zaino on my car

Cool

Currently 7 or 8 coats of ZFX (mixed Z5 and Z2, mostly Z2).

And, one coat of S100 (P21S) wax for added short term liquidity/wetness.

I stopped counting after 35. Mike, I have been wondering on putting an S100 top coat on my car for a while, but I LOVE to layer Zaino (as most can tell). How often can you apply an S100 top coat? Does it really add that much more to the Zaino?

Well, Zaino advises against adding anything on top, because you can't easily add more Zaino. I completely understand that and it's for a good reason. But, I figure 8 coats is more than enough for many months worth of protection, so I'll do some experimenting for purposes of appearanace and shine only.

You can apply the S100 as often as you like really. It's not very durable, and most of it will probably be gone after a month or month and a half in daily driving conditions. I've applied other nonabrasive waxes over Zaino and couldn't tell much of a difference in apearance. The S100 however does alter the appearance, probably for the better. Where Zaino is very reflective and mirrored, the S100 adds more wetness and a liquid appearance. The color of my red is richer, a tad darker, but just as shiny, if not more so, with the S100. This is my second time adding S100 to the car. The very first time I applied it, after I was finished I stood back and noticed the shine on the hood, and just said "holy #$%^" to myself! I couldn't stop looking at the shine on the car lol, it just looked so damned good! That doesn't happen very often at all with many of the products I've used in the past....... I think it looks great myself, but I do see a couple downsides. One is obviously that I can't add more Zaino right away. Two is that it attracts dust like crazy due to all the oils. I did an experiment within my experiment and applied S100 to half my roof. After just a day, one half (S100) was coated in dust, the other half (which hasn't had a coat of Zaino or anything else in about a month) hardly had any dust. So, it's a nice shine, but it attracts dust like a magnet. The S100 is VERY slick feeling afterwards too!

Here's some shots I took after the S100 treatment:

It's hard to capture on camera (especially a cheap one ) what the particular shine of a product offers. But, I was trying to capture the added wet/liquid/deep look that the S100 offers. I'll probably use S100 in the future, but I'd say it's mostly for a show type finish since the durability sucks. I actually wouldn't trust any carnauba alone for protection or durability purposes. My daily driver needs the toughest protection on the market, so I'll always use a synthetic as a base or alone.

After the S100 wears away in a few weeks, I'm probably going to try other products too.... The S100 is so easy to use and gives a shine that many feel is the equal of Pinnacle Souveran which is a $70 show car wax. So, in the end, I like the look and the shine, but there are downfalls to using products of this nature. S100 doesn't offer the "pina colada" experience like Souveran, but it's about 1/5th the price too. I've got 2 jars of the S100 currently.

I have several F-body customers that claim over 300 coats, why I have no idea.

Now can you use the Z6 QD over the S100? I wash/wax my car about once every 3-5 days in the summer, so I really don't mind durability. It also isn't a daily driver. I think I might do a before/after or 1 side just Zaino, one side S100 layer shot with the same lighting, with a QUALITY digital cam. Does the S100 make it darker? I would assumer so, because darker usually = wetter look.
