Polish how often

The regular wax brands claim every 52 car washes but if the weather is harsh (I mean on the hot and dusty side) then it would have to be sooner I guess, depending also on how often you wash the car.

How often do you guys polish your cars ?

I see you are in Dubai, so that means very hot. Carnauba waxes are out, as they will melt. If you can get Zaino, get it.

I agree with moparman -- get some Zaino, or at least another quality synthetic polish. Carnauba waxes aren't going to hold up very long in a harsh environment. I don't know where the "52 washes" number comes from... I guess if you wash your car once a week, the product is supposed to last for a whole year? Unfortunately, there isn't any polish that has that kind of durability. Zaino will probably give you several months protection, but that is dependent on other factors as well.

It all depends on the products you are using. A true "polish" is mildly abrasive and should only be used a couple times a year. But if you are referring to a wax or sealant, you can use it as often as you like, but a good indicator is when the water begins to stop beading.

1 car wash/ week is an average.

Some cars I only do once a year, My sisters Jetta I waxed with Mothers and it still beeded up the water after all that time.

Cars I care most about and wash weekly, My GTO and Camaro, I would do probably 3-4 times a year since they are parked outside and driven daily. If it's a garage car that comes out only on nice days- once a year is probably more then enough.

I polish my cars about 2 times a year. If I was in a hot and sunny location like yours (or a wet and snowy one for that matter) and the car wasn't in storage for part of the year, I would reccomend probably 4 times a year to keep it top notch.
