painting mirrors

painting mirrors

hi my mirrors on my 96z are faded and i was wondering if any one here tried to paint them themselves and how they did it. BTW they are black so i wouldn't need to color match them

mine were faded to but i just wet sanded them with like 1000 1500 and 2000 or so and then buffed them and i could see myself in them. u could just use some wax also and turn out well

do you have any before/after pics? I just want to see if yours were in the same condition as mine

no i dont. it was a while ago i did them. they had some scratches i sanded out and were like a dark gray. but if u did want to paint them black, u need to do it well cuz bugs will take the paint right back off.
