Paint on leather

How can I get paint off of leather? I got a little bit of overspray on my door panel. It's on the very edge kind of inbetween it and the plastic panel next to it. Would it even be worth it to remove it? I honestly forgot it was even there until I went to repaint something and was taping stuff up again. Should I use paint thinner? Paint remover? Will these ruin the leather?

Re: Paint on leather

I would not use either paint thinner, or paint remover

I've seen first hand how trying to clean, remove marks, etc., leather w/o taking alot of care and using the proper cleaner/conditioner, can cause the leather to actually begin wearing thin, and you're left with a more noticeable mark as a result.

If it's hard to notice, and you did say you hadn't noticed it previously, I'd live with it. On Camaro's especially, the leather isn't the greatest quality, and if you're not careful, you could do more damage using the wrong products.

Hope that was some help

Well, if it's on the stock door panel, the material is vinyl, not leather. I wonder if a clay bar would take overspray off of vinyl? It shouldn't hurt to try. Just a thought.

Re: Paint on leather

Try 'Pep Boys', "AutoZone', or any automotive store. I believe they carry those products

Re: Paint on leather

to get paint of leather, rub vaseline on the paint.
It works great on leather jackets too.
