paint factory defect
Ray66, I bought the 2000 SS 1 1/2 years ago with only 1200 miles on it. (immaculate) The problem is, do you think the dealer will fix the roof even though I'm not the original buyer?

Go over to LS1.com and LS1tech.com and use the search feature.... all ine info you want is there. Bottom line is it doesn't matter if your SS is past the warranty period-YOUR ROOF IS DEFECTIVE FROM THE FACTORY AT GM..... THEY WILL REPAIR IT, PERIOD!!!!
Just so there is no mistake here. There is a big difference between a TSB and a Recall. TSB problems are only fixed for free during the warranty period. ONLY exception, you had the car in for the problem during the warranty period, the TSB was active when you had your car in and they did not fix it then. If you find out that was the case, your repair is free or you call the GM hot line and the dealer is trouble and you get it fixed for free. If the TSB comes out AFTER the warranty period on your car is over, better luck next time. All the ranting about suing will not do anything but raise your blood pressure. At least at this point the dealer will now have the proper instructions to fix your car properly.
Recall Safety problems are fixed for free for the life of the car. Only the original owners are notified however. Gm has no way to track the actual current location of the car.
I will edit this shortly with a link to the other thread for the way to find TSB and Recall info on your car. I will also make a short post in that thread to clear up a potential misunderstanding.
Please God, make this my last two posts on this subject.
Back Shortly,
PJ
