If its on the surface, a polish will take it off. I used mothers california gold reflections on my 88' caprice to get rid of the oxidation. this is a light polish, if you have a bad problem you may need a heavier polish like a 3m product. However, after 85' gm's paint got drastically softer so be real careful with any type of polish.

Thanks fbird95 for your help. Do you have any suggestions on what polish to use? I have tried Mother's, Meguiars, but it's still there?

Lightbulb Oxidation

It's going to take a pretty strong abrasive to completely remove and restore an oxidized surface. The products I'd recommend would be: 3M Fine Cut Compound, Meguiar's Fine Cut Cleaner, or Meguiar's Dual Action Cleaner/Polish. Compounds and Strong Cleaners

OR
Lighter Polishes

For oxidation, I'd reach for the 3M FCRC first.....and follow with a couple coats of swirl remover afterwards....JMO.
