Orange peel in clearcoat.. HELP!

I'm just finishing up my front bumper, sanding/priming/and paint went well. However, when it came to the clearcoat, I sprayed 2 layers, and it looks like terrible orange peel. I don't think I'm spraying to heavy, there are no runs or sags, I know I mixed the clearcoat right.. Is it supposed to do this?

What do I do now? Can I fix it without having to re-do the whole bumper? Can I just wet-sand it out after I get another couple layers on there?

And then buff it with polish afterwards or what?

I've never sprayed clear before, it could very well be something I'm doing wrong. Also, what exactly are you supposed to do once you're done spraying clear? Buff it with anything?

Well...first make sure there are no air born oils..such as tire shine in the air around it..that would def. cause ur orange peel...I would check the pressure on ur gun, and how heavy your putting it on..ive never seen a car cleared that didnt have a little bit of orange peel..you can usually wet sand and buff most of it out...good luck!!

Well, I messed around a bit with the air pressure setting on the gun, and sprayed a bit heavier coat. Looks quite a bit better, hoping it'll settle overnight. If not, I may try one more coat, and if that doesn't fix it, I'm going to set aside a day to wetsand/buff it out.

What type of clear are you using? Look up the products info and see what they recomend for air pressure.Usually between 30-40 psi at the gun. The clear you are using probably either has a mixing ratio of 2:1 or 4:1 first number is clear secound is hardner. Due to State regulations they do not put reducer in the ratio. You NEED recucer or it will spray like syrup. If its 2:1 ratio mix a half of a part of reducer if its 4:1 mix 1 part reducer.IE 4:1:1. Lt1son had a good idea about the air born contamination but that doesnt cause orange peal it causes fish eyes, wich is like crators in the clear. If I were you I would wet sand the clear untill it looks dull and flat with no shiny pits. Use 1000 grit with soft pad. Dry,clean with grease and wax remover and clear it again using the mixing ration I stated above.
You dont want to have to sand and buff a bumper cover.Reasons being to hard to buff out a non flat surface. Youll for sure burn the paint if inexperienced with wheeling. We dont ever wet sand bumper covers at work.Hope this helps.

JC95Z is rite on all that. You could have the wrong hardener or wrong air temp for the hardener it could be drying before it flows out. Are you useing a flex ageint.
