Ok since the car will have fresh paint soon it will be needing a good wax job. I know I have to wait 30 days before waxing or anything to allow the paint to fully cure. What I need help on is choosing the first coat of wax. Im thinking about going the zano route. Can any of you detailing experts give me some ideas on what to use.

 

Zaino is an excellent choice. I'd start with the clay bar, car wash, and Z2 for a starter kit.

 

Zaino. My Grand National will have new paint soon and I plan on using this. I have used this stuff on my camaro for the past year and I really like it.

Not redundant... claying a new paint job ensures that you get all possible overspray off your new paint.

 

The car will be color sanded then buffed to a nice deep shine then buffed again with 3m's swirl mard reducer. then 30 days later the she will get her first coat of wax

 

Make sure 30 days is sufficient - ask your painter.

 

I am my painter and the tech sheets for the paint say 30 days is fine.

 

Hey oneslow...
During that 30 day window between paint and wax, to maintain your shine make sure you polish your paint with a glazing compound. Keeps it shiny-sparkly and after wax it'll be as glossy as can be.
