Question new car, when to wax ????

I got my 2001 z a couple of weeks ago. I havent waxed it yet. I heard that you should wait a wile for the paint to cure. Is this True? When should I wax? Hand or Buffer?
Thanks Tim

You should have already done it. Do the whole job now. Wash with dish detergent, then use the claybar. Wash again, and use good paint protectant. I prefer Zaino.

Hey Man,
I asked that same question a week ago. I just got my 2002 SS and I wanted to wax it. I fianly got ahold of the dealer and he said go for it, anytime is fine. Laters.

Congrats on the new ride! Yeah, go ahead. Might want to consider the Zaino. I really like the results. Check out our B'ham AL board sometime. Link in sig.

Now is a great time. My SS got the full Zaino treatment last weekend. It still looks like it was just polished and it is "Wash me every damn day" NBM.

Well, I'm no expert but.. Seeing as how it rolled out of the plant in Canada, probably sat in a holding yard for at least a couple days, then was trucked down here.. And was at the dealer for who knows how long before you bought it. And now you've had it for a couple of weeks.
So yeah, I think it's safe.
