need help question about orange peel

need help question about orange peel

well i got my ss spoiler painted awhile ago and i just notice when the sun glares on the spoiler ucan see the orange peel effect in the front of the spoiler...can orange peel be removed like being wet sanded and buffed? if so what kind of wet sand paper do i use.. and how much would i wet sand to make my spoiler look good..

Well, not that I ever attempted anything like that, 3M suggests the following for correcting Orange Peel. Hope it helps.

If you've never attempted wet sanding or hard buffing, I'd highly recommend you pay a visit to a reputable detailer or body shop in your area. It's way too easy to ruin or scour a finish with sanding without the right tools and techniques. If you try it yourself, I'd try to find a beater or a junk panel to practice on first, or you'll end up with a mess.

its exactly as described.when you look at the panel and the paint has the texture of an orange. its easily cured with wetsanding it then buffing it .. but you have to be care full when trying to smooth it out cause you can easily blow thru the clear coat..
